KS2 Teaching Assistant

Location: Kingshurst
Pay: £462.80- £100 Per week
Contract: Full-time | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only

Are you confident supporting Year 6 pupils and have a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum? We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience working within upper Key Stage 2 and is confident supporting pupils in preparation for their SATs and transition to secondary school.

The successful candidate will play an important role in helping Year 6 pupils reach their full academic potential, develop independence and build the confidence they need as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

The Role

As a Year 6 Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide classroom support to Year 6 pupils across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Support pupils with English, Maths and other core curriculum subjects.
• Have a strong understanding of the Year 6 National Curriculum and expected learning outcomes.
• Support pupils with SATs preparation, including reading comprehension, spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG), and mathematical reasoning.
• Deliver small-group interventions to help consolidate learning and address gaps in knowledge.
• Work alongside the class teacher to support lesson delivery and ensure pupils remain engaged.
• Support pupils in developing independent learning skills, confidence and resilience.
• Help identify areas where pupils may require additional academic support.
• Encourage positive behaviour and maintain high expectations within the classroom.
• Support pupils with their preparation for the transition to secondary school.
