Geotechnical Consultant
£40,000 - £45,000 + Car Allowance + Pension + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Atherstone, Warwickshire (Commutable from: Tamworth, Nuneaton, Coventry, Birmingham & surrounding areas)
Are you a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist looking for a varied consulting role offering independence, project ownership, and room to progress?
Join a leading engineering and surveying specialist providing comprehensive geotechnical design, environmental monitoring, and waste management solutions across the quarry, landfill, and development sectors.
Working with minimal supervision, you will split your time between office-based advanced technical design and field-based site supervision. You will lead complex multidisciplinary assignments, manage budgets, liaise with clients/regulators, and mentor junior engineers.
The Role:

• Undertake geotechnical stability assessments and design earthworks, liners, and capping systems.
• Lead geological and environmental investigations for waste, contaminated land, and mineral sites.
• Supervise on-site drilling operatives, manage borehole installations, and perform geological logging.
• Manage project finances, administer contracts, and liaise with clients and regulatory authorities.

The Person:

• Proven consulting experience within an engineering geology or geotechnical consultancy.
• Strong background in the minerals, quarrying, or waste management sectors is highly desired.
• Degree-qualified in Geology, Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experienced in running slope stability models and managing project budgets.
• Confident in field methods, borehole logging, and site supervision.
