GCSE Maths Teacher

Location: Warwick, Warwickshire
Salary: £34,500 – £39,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 37 hours per week
Teaching hours: Approximately 25 hours per week across 39 teaching weeks
Start date: ASAP

Are you a Maths Teacher who enjoys helping young people build confidence, overcome barriers and achieve qualifications that can make a real difference to their next steps?

Think FE is recruiting a GCSE Maths Teacher for a well-established further education college in Warwickshire. You’ll be joining a specialist 14–16 provision where students combine their GCSE studies with vocational learning, including areas such as Engineering and Motor Vehicle.

This is a permanent opportunity for a teacher who can make Maths accessible and engaging for learners with different starting points and support needs. The college is looking for someone who can build positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations in the classroom.

The role You’ll teach GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths to learners aged 14–16, helping students develop their skills, confidence and understanding.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons
• Teaching GCSE and Functional Skills Maths
• Assessing and marking work and tracking learner progress
• Identifying where students require additional support
• Differentiating lessons to meet individual learning needs
• Supporting learners with SEND and SEMH needs
• Maintaining positive classroom and behaviour management
• Liaising with parents and carers where appropriate
• Attending parents’ evenings and maintaining accurate learner records
• Contributing to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who has:

• PGCE, QTS or QTLS – a PGCE without QTS is accepted
• Experience successfully teaching GCSE Maths
• Experience supporting learners with SEMH/SEND
• Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
• An understanding of safeguarding and learner welfare
• The ability to differentiate lessons and adapt teaching to different abilities
• The confidence and communication skills to work effectively with 14–16-year-old learners

Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths would be highly desirable.
