Bin Delivery Driver

Rate: £13.48 per hour PAYE

Location: Coventry, CV3 4AR
Contract: Temporary basis, 3 months on-going.
Positions Available: 1

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7.5 hours per day
• Friday: 7 hours per day
• Total: 37 hours per week
• Start time: 7:30am
• 30-minute unpaid break daily

About the Role

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Coventry City Council for a Bin Delivery Driver to support the Waste Services Department with the delivery of bins for the city's new food waste collection service.

This is a hands-on role combining driving and manual work. You will be responsible for delivering food waste bins and associated materials to residential properties across Coventry, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, accurately and on schedule.

The role is ideal for reliable individuals who enjoy being out on the road, working independently and providing a high standard of service to residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the Bin Delivery Van safely and responsibly.
• Deliver food waste bins and related materials to residential addresses across Coventry.
• Follow planned delivery routes and schedules.
• Complete delivery records accurately.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed efficiently and to agreed targets.
• Maintain high standards of customer service when interacting with residents.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Support the Waste Services team with other duties as required.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence - Category B
• Aged 18 years or over for insurance purposes.
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling duties.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to providing excellent service.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
